Windows Defender is an anti spyware program, not an anti virus program. It defends against 'known' spyware programs and is regularly updated with any new spyware threats. It's a good idea to keep it running as another level of protection.

The only drawback is you will have to reset your browser home page and search engine and desktop theme as after the spyware has been removed the opperating system on this part reverts back to the microsoft default. I got hit with this "darned little thing" AntiVirus and did everything that was stated above. I am still getting a couple of windows popping up doing some advertising for the Antivirus software from "pro-central".

Spybot is past its prime and pretty much worthless now a days. Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware did fix the problem. I am back to normal. Thanks again for the suggestion. In other words, should I buy the complete version of Anti-Malware and have it's protection running in the background with NAV?
I am kind of concerned since one program wasn't the solution, in this case. Pros: Unlike Norton products in the past especially Norton Internet Security these programs would just bog down your system.
